Priorat
Creu Celta 2005

Tasting notes...
Rich, textured and full bodied with pine, chocolate, cherry, plum and currant notes. The slate based soil ` licorella` adds an underpinning of a smoky minerality. Balanced with natural acidity.
Fermented in both open top barrels and stainless steel. Made from old vines Carignan (Samso) and Grenache. Partly aged in new and one year old French barriques.
Full bodied and earthy with sumptuous pine, chocolate, berry, and vanilla notes, it has a firm structure and is ideal with cheese and red meat dishes
We recommend you decant and thus aireate the wine before consumption. Whilst drinking on release, this wine will evolve over the next few years.

Decanter World Wine Awards 2009 - Bronze Medal
International Wine Challenge 2009 - Commended
" Congratulations on your Priorat venture. I'm particularly pleased to see you're using Samso (Carignan). I really liked the way you'd held the ripeness in check yet maximised the Priorat character. Good old Ulster restraint mixed with Celt indulgence. Keep up the good work."
(Oz Clarke - Jan 2009)
"Clean and pronounced, red currant, wild strawberry, Morello cherry, violets, pepper, smoke, vanilla. High, fine tannins and bright, red fruit that together tame the alcohol."
(Michael Palij M.W.)
