DWS european Wine Course 2010
3 Nights :: 3 Countries :: 3 Experts
Tuesday 2nd, 9th & 16th February 2010: 7.30pm
£100 per person
This three week course will focus on the European countries which have arguably had the most impact on the history of the wine world. Whilst France and Italy may vie for the title of ‘Who makes the finest wine?’, Spain has seen more change in the last 15 years than most of the world’s wine producing countries. Each week we will taste a range of wines from various price points, grape varieties and regions. The course will be an excellent snapshot of what these great wine countries are doing today.
Week one - Denis Broderick Ireland’s leading wine educator and a DWS favourite. Denis has walked, cycled and even driven through many of the classic and up-and-coming Spanish wine regions. As always he will share his passion for wine with his usual flair, humour and expertise.
Week two - Jane Boyce M.W., Northern Ireland’s home grown Master of Wine, will take us on a tour through the regions of France. Jane a self confessed Francophile who has also lived in France will be the perfect guide.
Week three - Michael Palij M.W. one of the world’s leading experts on Italian wine, as well as one of the UK’s leading wine educators will lead us through the intricacies of Italian wine. For 20 years he has been visiting and working in this remarkable country and has forged relationships with some of Italy’s finest producers.
The course costs £100 per person for 3 weeks. The price includes all lectures and notes plus a tasting kit consisting of 6 ISO tasting glasses, corkscrew and pen.
On completion of the course all participants are issued with a certificate and special discount card making them a “friend of DWS”.
This promises to be a fun and interesting wine course and the perfect way to spend the winter evenings.
